FROM EUPEN, WITHOUT BORDERS.
Lacønis is based in Eupen. The businesses I build for are in East Belgium, in the Eifel, in the Euregio, and some further away. Distance is not a criterion.
From Eupen
East Belgium is the German-speaking Community, nine municipalities from Kelmis to Burg-Reuland, and around it the Euregio: Aachen, Monschau and Simmerath on the German side, Verviers and Liège on the other. That is where most enquiries come from. It is not a service area, more the place where people know me.
We have the first conversation wherever you like: at your business, at my place in Eupen or by video. After that almost everything happens by phone and in the browser, and you see every stage on your own device. Whether you are ten or three hundred kilometres away changes nothing.
Two languages are everyday life here.
In East Belgium people speak German, the customers often French, in the Euregio Dutch and English as well. That is why multilingualism is not an extra with me but built in: you add the language, have it translated, read it through and approve. The machine's suggestion never goes online unseen.
5 of the 9 websites here run in two to four languages. Fabry Baumpflege in German and French, Henkes Industries in four languages for all of Europe.
Questions from East Belgium.
The five that come up most often. All the others on the FAQ page.
Lacønis has no price list, because no two businesses need the same thing. The amount depends on pages, languages and features, and it is fixed before I start. The first conversation is free, the quote arrives the same day or the next.
Two to eight weeks from the first conversation to going live, depending on pages, languages and features. After that you look after the site yourself, with ContentCore.
No. The first conversation takes place at your business, at mine in Eupen or by video. After that almost everything runs by phone and in the browser, and you see every stage on your own device.
In East Belgium many customers come from Verviers, Liège or Aachen, so German and French usually go together. Dutch matters at the border and with visitors from Flanders. You add each language yourself, have it translated, read it through and approve.
Nine websites from Eupen, Limbourg, Baelen, Simmerath and Amay, from tree care to mechanical engineering to a stationery shop. All of them are under Work, each with a link to the site as it runs today.
Notes from the region.
Every municipality searches differently. Short notes on what a website needs there.
- Website in St. Vith: reaching neighbours and strangersSt. Vith is the centre of the south, with customers from the Eifel, Luxembourg and Germany. What a website has to do there, and what it does not.
- Website in Kelmis: three languages at the counterKelmis sits where three countries meet, with customers from Aachen, Vaals and Liège. Three languages are no luxury there, they are everyday life at the counter.
- Website in Raeren: customers from both sides of the borderRaeren sits on the motorway to Aachen, with customers from Germany who cross the border to shop. What a website has to do there.
- Website in Lontzen: German and French, every dayLontzen, Herbesthal and Walhorn lie between Eupen, Kelmis and Welkenraedt, with businesses along the motorway and customers in two languages. What a website has to do there.
- Website in Büllingen: neighbours, Germans and visitorsBüllingen is the municipality on the German border, with customers from the Eifel on both sides and visitors all year round. What a website has to do there.
- Website in Bütgenbach: visitors from Flanders and the NetherlandsBütgenbach lives off the lake, Worriken and visitors from Flanders and the Netherlands. What a website has to do there, and why English counts.
- Website in Amel: word of mouth, then GoogleAmel is countryside: villages, farms, workshops, construction firms. What a website has to do there, and why the jobs page matters more than the start page.
- Website in Burg-Reuland: selling into three countriesBurg-Reuland is the southernmost municipality, with Ouren where three countries meet. A business here sells into three countries. What a website has to do for that.
- Website in Aachen: ranking ahead of the twenty othersAachen is big, and on Google it is crowded. What a website has to do there, and what a business from East Belgium does differently.
- Website in Simmerath: customers who search on the roadThree businesses in Simmerath run on sites I built: a commercial vehicle workshop, a trailer dealer, a car wash. What they have in common, and what counts in the Eifel.
- Website in Monschau: visitors who search from their phoneMonschau lives off visitors from the Rhineland, the Netherlands and Belgium. What a website has to do there, and why three businesses in Simmerath next door already run that way.
- Website in Verviers: French alone is not enoughVerviers is the town between Liège and East Belgium, with customers on both sides of the language border. What a website has to do there, with a tree surgeon from Limbourg as the example.
- Website in Liège: ten spots, dozens of competitorsLiège is the big city, with thousands of businesses and competition on Google to match. What a website has to do there, and what a web designer from Eupen brings that is different.
- Website in Huy: one language, but being foundHuy and Amay, between Liège and Namur: businesses, associations, customers from the whole valley. What a website has to do there, with a youth welfare service from Amay as the example.
