Notes,

Google reviews for small businesses

Whoever is at the top of Google in Eupen rarely has the best website. They have the most genuine reviews. This is how you get them.

Search Google for a tradesman in Eupen and the first thing you see is three businesses with stars, a map and a phone number. Those three get the most calls. Google decides who gets there by the Google profile: category, address, photos, and above all reviews.

The good part: reviews cost nothing. The hard part: nobody writes one unless you ask. So ask. Ideally right after the job, when the work was good and the customer is happy. A short sentence is enough, plus the link to your profile, as a message or as a QR code on the invoice.

Reply to every review, the good ones too, in a sentence or two. Google sees that the profile is alive, and the next customer sees that you reply. For a bad review the same applies, only calmer: thank you, what happened, what you have changed.

What you should not do: buy reviews or have friends write them. Google spots patterns, and a suspended profile is worse than an empty one.

Your website and your Google profile belong together: the same address, the same hours, the same name. When I build a site, I set up the profile along with it, so that both say the same thing. After that, asking is your job, one sentence per order.
