Accessibility
This site should work for everyone: with a mouse, a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification or voice control. Here is how far that holds.
The standard I follow
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the basis of the European standard EN 301 549 and of the European Accessibility Act. As a microenterprise, Laconis isn't legally required to meet them. I do anyway, because I do the same for my clients' sites.
How I test
With Lighthouse, Google's testing tool, and with axe, the most widely used tool for WCAG checks, on desktop and on a phone. On 24 October 2026, Lighthouse gave this site 100 out of 100 for accessibility, and axe found no WCAG 2.2 AA violations on any page in the sitemap. The two errors axe had flagged first that day, I had fixed beforehand.
What's built in
A “Skip to content” link right at the top. A clearly visible outline around whatever you reach with the keyboard. Zooming is allowed, pinch included. Every image has a text for screen readers, every page declares its language. If your device asks for reduced motion, the site calms down. And there's no cookie banner covering anything, because there are no cookies.
What isn't perfect yet
The strip of work on the home page moves by itself. It stops when you point at it with the mouse or touch it, and it stands still if your device asks for reduced motion. It doesn't have its own pause button yet. With the keyboard it's skipped; the same work is under Work. The captures of client sites are images; their full text is on the client's own site.
Report a problem
If you hit a barrier anywhere, write to nicolas@laconis.be or call +32 488 43 91 47. Tell me which page and what you're using, and I'll deal with it and tell you when it will be fixed.
